YYC Hot Chocolate Fest Week 2

This Saturday my wife and a friend and I went out to try some more hot chocolates! We wanted to try more, but life has been busy. Here are my thoughts.

These were taken to go, so their pictures won’t quite match the official.

Caramello Tartlette by Ladybug Bakery & Cafe

The cafe itself was lovely, I definitely want to return to Ladybug to try some of their food another time.

The hot chocolate itself has wonderful toppings and the tart was delicious. Unfortunately, the hot chocolate itself was quite watery, which made it much worse than it could have been. I feel that if the base HC was richer then this would really stand out from the rest.

We got the non-spirited version, which is less than the listed price of the spirited one.

This hot chocolate is fairly standard, with the maraschino cherry and chocolate shavings nice toppings. Nothing special in the non-spirited to-go version, but nothing bad either. A good, satisfying hot chocolate.

Blueberry Bomber by Sauce Italian Market

This hot chocolate was great! With real blueberries, a blue whipped cream, a cream cheese icing, and even a small cheesecake on top, it was a pleasure to experience this treat.

That’s all for this week, but I hope to try more hot chocolate next week, and give my final recommendations before the last weekend in February.
